Dr. Osvaldo Fustinoni. El XI Simposio internacional de enfermedades cerebrovasculares tuvo el honor de contar entre los invitados extranjeros al Dr Osvaldo Fustinoni, de Argentina . También contó con la distinguida presencia de Bousser, Marie-Germaine.  Biografía: Marie-Germaine Bousser is Professor of Neurology and Head of the Department of Neurology, Hospital Lariboisière, Paris, France. Dr Bousser’s main research interests focus on cerebrovascular diseases and headache in the field of stroke prevention, identification and characterisation of CADASIL (Cerebral Autosomal Dominant Arteriopathy with Subcortical Infarcts and Leucoence-phalopathy), cerebral venous thrombosis, dissections, migraine and stroke, migraine and hormones, stroke in women. She is interested in acute ischaemic stroke and heparin treatments, thrombolysis in stroke, secondary stroke prevention with anticoagulants, reductions in the risk of recurrent stroke in patients with and without diabetes, diffusion-weighted imaging of intravascular clots in cerebral venous thrombosis, the genetics of migraine, migraine and the risk of cervical artery dissection, and vascular dementia. Since 1978, Dr. Bousser has been a consultant for the French Drug Agency. She is or has been a principle investigator in the Perindopril Protection Against Recurrent Stroke Study (PROGRESS) as well as in the Clopidogrel vs Aspirin in Patients at Risk of Ischemic Events Study (CAPRIE). Dr Bousser has also been the French coordinator of the European Carotid Surgery Trial and a member of various committees such as the Antiplatelet Trialists' Collaboration, the IHS headache classification committee, IHS subcommittee on clinical trial methodology, the IHS education committee and the IHS task force on oral contraceptives and migraine. She has been the IHS chairman of the subcommittee on “Headache attributed to cerebral vascular disorders”. Dr Bousser has also been a member of French Ministry of Health’s working groups on dementia, aspirin, hypertension, cluster headache, carotid surgery and stroke. She has been a member of the Scientific Council of "Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris", Stroke Working Group for the Ile de France hospitalisation agency. Dr Bousser was a member of the Steering Committee of the International Study of Cerebral Venous Thrombosis and worked as an expert for the “Competence Network Stroke”, initiated by the German Research Ministry. Dr Bousser is a member of distinguished societies such as the French Society of Neurology, the French Association for Biological Psychiatry, the Headache Research Group of the World Federation of Neurology, the French Headache Society, the International Headache Society (IHS), the Stroke Council of the American Heart Association, the American Neurological Association, the European Neurological Society, the International Stroke Society, the French Stroke Society and she is a corresponding member of the French Académie de Médecine. Dr Bousser is a founding member of the European Stroke Conference and an Honorary Foreign member of the Association of British Neurologists. Dr Bousser has authored and co-authored more than 550 scientific papers and abstracts on cerebrovascular diseases in journals such as Headache, Annals of Neurology, Lancet, the New England Journal of Medicine, Adverse Neurology, Cephalalgia, Stroke, Cerebrovascular Diseases, Archives of Neurology, and the Journal of Internal Medicine.
